A WTC record breaking crowd has seen Team Australia get off to a flying start with a 2-1 victory over Team International.
5,593 spectators were in attendance, surpassing the previous record set 2015 (4,321).
Henri Kontinen (FIN)/John Peers (AUS) defeated Jamie Murray (GBR)/Bruno Soares (BRA) 6-3 5-7 [10-6] to put Team Australia in the lead.
Adelaide’s very own Thanasi Kokkinakis then followed suit with a 3-6 6-2 [10-8] win over Gael Monfils (FRA) to claim the win for Team Australia.
The ever popular Henri Leconte (FRA) and Mansour Bahrami (IRI) then joined the teams as the wildcards, with Leconte and Mats Wilander (SWE) combining to defeat Mark Philippoussis (AUS) and Bahrami 7-6.
The tennis action continues on Tuesday night, with Team USA making their 2018 WTC debut against Team International.
