“Tommy was someone we were very interested in given he is a US citizen and as such works well to complete Team America.    Every indication from Tommy is he will be right to go for Adelaide and he is looking for some strong matches ahead of the Australian Open.” WTC Director Darren Cahill stated.

Haas, who made a return to the circuit in June 2011 after a period of injury saw him sidelined, is thrilled to join the WTC contingent and to be playing alongside the legendary John McEnroe.

“I have fond memories of Adelaide having won there in 2001.  I have heard great reports about the event and the crowd they get to WTC so I am really looking forward to partnering John and I hope I can help him defend his title.” he continues.

To partner John McEnroe in Team America former Top 5 player and ‘sexiest man alive’ nominee James Blake has confirmed his participation with Alexandr Dolgopolov (ATP ranked#16) partnering Rafter in Team Australia, fittingly due to his connection with his coach being Adelaide’s Jack Reader.
